Frequently Asked Questions
SMSF Subscription Service
-
How do I subscribe?
All new Deeds which are established by NTAACorporate since May 2010 are automatically subscribed to the service provided no changes have been made to the deed. Deeds established prior to this date can join the SMSF Update Subscription Service if you :
- establish a new deed with NTAA Corporate; or
- vary an existing deed.
For Deeds that have been established by us and have been since changed, a review of the changes will need to be undertaken before it can be admitted to the subscription service.
-
How do I unsubscribe?
We will send an invitation to remain subscribed every year, if you do not want to continue with one of your clients funds, simply don't pay for the coming years subscription.
-
Why update governing rules on an annual basis?
The Update Subscription Service is ideal for advisers who wish to keep their SMSF clients up to date and compliant with the latest superannuation laws, without the concern that documents are inconsistent, potentially out of date. By maintaining this approach you will also enjoy administrative efficiencies.
-
When does my subscription finish?
Every subscription to the Update Subscription Service finishes on 1 August. You will be sent a reminder email with an invoice for subscribed funds.
-
If I joined in say June, will I still need to resubscribe in July?
Yes. However, as the only means of joining the SMSF update subscription service is to establish a new deed or complete a manual update/review and both of those services have, built into them, the SMSF update subscription service for the remainder of the year up until the anniversary date, you will not pay for the service until the new year.
-
Do I have to resubscribe every year?
No. However, while you will still have access to prior documents and changes you will not have access to any newer documentation.
-
If my subscription has lapsed, how do I resubscribe?
You may need to complete a manual deed of variation and review to ensure that the deed is compatible with the current NTAA Corporate deed and pay for the subscription service. The payment for the susbscription service may include payments for intervening years not subscribed.
-
My subscription lapsed more than 12 months ago. To resubscribe do I need to pay for all of the intervening years?
Yes. Alternatively, you may wish to simply join as a new subscriber if you decide that the manual deed of variation / review is cheaper than the total of the invoices from the intervening years.
